Late last year the New Economics Foundation and NESTA published their report The Challenge of Co-production. The report argues that public services in the UK face new challenges, particularly in relation to decreasing budgets and increasing demand. By working together (professionals and service users) the report suggests that ‘co-production’ has the potential to change the way public services are provided. “By involving individuals and users in the design and delivery of public services, rather than treating them as passive recipients of services, co-production allows health, education, policing and other public services to be delivered more effectively, more efficiently and more sustainably”
